Absolutely Fantastic Blind Concepts
Most people are aware of venetian blinds as the slatted plastic strips with cords which are always tangled. These are quite difficult to clean and can make a room appear messy and shabby just by being tangled or crooked.
Blinds that have plastic slats are no longer in the interior design of today. Decorators often pick anodized aluminum and silver blinds for use on a modern window with a minimalist touch. Presently, the range of available venetian blinds includes a range of different designs, textures, and colors. Presently, manufacturers are designing blinds with interesting textures and fresh colors either by painting, coating, or anodizing the slats. The natural beige of industrial looks and the black blinds that were so hot back in the 90s are now considered outdated and boring. Plus, expert designers agree that these colors only make a room drab and impersonal. These blinds are still worth being kept if you would spend for special lighting treatments, dimmers, and bulbs. The starkness of the blinds can be softened by light treatments. For some beautiful custom made blinds, you may want to consider Cary blinds.
Instead of spending money on lights, why not update your rooms by getting the appropriate blinds for them? The new, brighter neons would look beautifully retro when combined with memorabilia and designs from the 60s and 70s. Colors like metallic bronze, gold and silver blinds are hot and will add instant glow and glam in any room. Rather than using black or white venetian blinds on an office with wood paneling, use instead more luxurious and richer colors like deep wine or burgundy. Brown and olive blinds are deemed best for earth toned rooms. Industrial spaces like offices look sleeker and more updated with blinds of celadon or cherry red.
If the bolder and more adventurous colors aren't your type, simply choose different textures so you can have your blinds updated. For Asian-inspired or bohemian-themed rooms, use wooden slats. Leather covered slats look sleek and collected for offices. Plastics still work to uplift the retro feel. If your rooms are still looking dated, the problem may not be the texture or color of your blinds. If your blinds are vertical, especially the ones that reach the floor, you've just found the source of your problem. These blinds are outdated and no longer in fashion. They look impersonal aside from being often same in color. They also interfere with other accents used for decoration like sculptures or statues. If you want to replace the vertical blinds but are still saving up for it, you can use drapes or sheer curtains for the time being. The mini-blind is yet another outdated blind although you can still use them as shades for small windows. Reduce old-fashioned vibes by purchasing mini-blinds with vibrant colors. To get some very attractive, custom made blinds you may want to consider Chapel Hill shutters.
Hand-painted decors are the ultimate window treatment fashion statements and venetian blinds utilize this technique. The slats on these blinds form part of a bigger picture when shut. These are more widely-known in Chinatowns and indie shops. And so, most of the themes on these blinds are Asian-inspired. These are great in any room as a surprise element or as an accent piece. Just try using any of these tricks and watch your rooms come alive with new window personalities.
